JetBlue is a US airline flying from New York, Boston, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando across the US, the Caribbean, Latin America and to Europe. In 2026 it moved to Base, Standard and Flex fares, and every fare still includes a carry-on bag. This guide covers the new fares, 2026 bag fees, power bank rules, Mint and BlueFirst, TrueBlue and how JetBlue compares with Alaska Airlines and Southwest.
JetBlue was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Long Island City, New York. It made its name with roomy seats, free entertainment and free Wi-Fi at low fares, and its Mint cabin brought lie-flat seats to transcontinental and transatlantic routes.

Online check-in opens 24 hours before departure on the website and app. At New York JFK, JetBlue flies from Terminal 5. Allow at least two hours for domestic and three hours for international departures.
Infants under two can fly on an adult’s lap, and small pets can travel in the cabin for a fee. Special assistance, including wheelchairs, should be requested in advance.

All three include a carry-on on their cheapest fares, unlike some US airlines.

In 2026 JetBlue reorganised its fares. You first choose an experience (Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst or Mint), then a fare option: Base, Standard or Flex. BlueFirst is JetBlue's new domestic first class, rolling out on non-Mint aircraft from late 2026; EvenMore is the extra-legroom option, and Mint remains the lie-flat premium cabin.
Standard and Flex fares have no change fees; Base fares cost $150 to change or cancel, with the rest returned as travel credit. Same-day switches cost $100 on Standard fares and are free on Flex fares and for Mosaic members. The US 24-hour rule allows free cancellation soon after booking.
Seat selection is included on Standard and Flex fares, and EvenMore seats add extra legroom. Fly-Fi Wi-Fi is free on all flights, along with free snacks and seatback entertainment. Mint has lie-flat seats, some with a door, and BlueFirst domestic first class rolls out from late 2026.
Every fare, including Main Base, includes a personal item and a full-size carry-on bag. Base passengers board last, so their bag may be gate-checked free of charge.
On Main and EvenMore, the first checked bag costs $45 off-peak or $49 peak and the second $59 or $69; BlueFirst Base and Mint Base include the first bag, and BlueFirst, Mint and Flex versions include two, as do Mosaic 2–4 members. A third bag costs $200, and overweight (51–99 lb) or oversized (63–80 in) bags cost $150 each. Adding bags at least 24 hours before departure saves up to $10 per bag; transatlantic bag fees are priced separately.
TrueBlue is JetBlue's free loyalty programme. You earn points on JetBlue flights and with partners, and redeem them for any seat with no blackout dates. Points don't expire.
Through the Blue Sky partnership, TrueBlue members can also earn and use points on United flights. Mosaic status gives free bags, free same-day switches and other perks.
