Jordan Aviation is a charter and leisure airline based in Amman, flying holiday routes to Egypt, Türkiye and Georgia and leasing aircraft to airlines around the world. Tickets usually include a 7 kg cabin bag and 23 kg of checked baggage, and check-in is at the airport only. This guide covers power bank rules, check-in, charter travel and how it compares with Royal Jordanian and EgyptAir.
The airline was registered in 1998 and started flying in 2000. Its small fleet includes Airbus A320 and A330, Boeing 737 and Boeing 767 aircraft, used for holiday flights, wet-lease contracts and United Nations missions.

Jordan Aviation follows the ICAO power bank rules in force worldwide since 27 March 2026:
There is no online check-in, so go to the airport counter at least two hours before departure, or three hours for busy holiday flights. Queen Alia International Airport is modern and well organised.
Counters usually close 60 minutes before departure, and you will need your passport and any visa for your destination.
Infants under two travel on an adult’s lap. Request wheelchairs and other special assistance when you book, as charter flights have fewer staff at outstations.
Families travelling on holiday packages should check with the tour operator about seat allocation, as seats on charter flights are usually assigned at the airport. Arrive early if you want to sit together. Pushchairs can usually be checked in at the counter at no extra cost, and families with young children are often invited to board first.
Much of the flying is seasonal:
Holiday routes to Sharm El Sheikh and Antalya are popular with Jordanian families in summer, while Tbilisi, Batumi and Trabzon attract travellers escaping the heat. Packages that include a hotel can cost less than booking flights and rooms separately.

Queen Alia International Airport is about 35 km south of Amman. The Airport Express bus and taxis link the airport with the city.
Jordan’s top sights, including Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea, are a few hours’ drive from Amman. The Jordan Pass combines the tourist visa fee with entry to many sites and can save money for visitors staying at least three nights.
You can also book an airport transfer in advance at a fixed price.
It is a practical choice for holiday routes from Amman, with included checked baggage and meals, though schedules are limited and tickets are less flexible than on scheduled airlines.
Because the airline focuses on charter work, its timetable changes from season to season, and some flights are sold only through travel agents and tour operators. If you cannot find a flight on the website, ask a Jordanian travel agent, who can usually book seats on holiday routes. For year-round flights and better connections, Royal Jordanian is usually the more flexible choice from Amman. Leased aircraft may sometimes operate flights for other airlines, so the aircraft you board may carry a different livery from the one you expect.
