Air Senegal is the national airline of Senegal, flying from Dakar to West Africa and Europe. Economy includes two 23 kg checked bags on most international routes and a cabin bag of about 10 kg. This guide covers power bank rules, check-in at Dakar, travel to Senegal and how it compares with Royal Air Maroc and Air France.
The airline was founded in 2016 and began flying in 2018 from the new Blaise Diagne International Airport. It flies Airbus jets and ATR 72 turboprops on regional routes.

Air Senegal follows the ICAO power bank rules in force worldwide since 27 March 2026:
For international flights, counters open three hours before departure and close 90 minutes before. Domestic counters open two hours before and close one hour before. The airport is about 50 km from central Dakar, so allow at least an hour for the drive.
Infants under two travel on an adult’s lap. Families should check in early to sit together. Wheelchairs and other special assistance should be requested at least 48 hours before the flight.
Senegal is known for its beaches, music and food:
The dry season from November to May is the best time to visit, with warm days and little rain.
Flights to Europe use Airbus jets with Business and Economy cabins, while shorter routes use Airbus A320-family jets and ATR 72 turboprops. Meals and drinks are served on international flights, often with Senegalese dishes. Cabin crew speak French, Wolof and English. On the Paris route, the flight takes about five and a half hours, and seat-back entertainment is available on some aircraft. Bring a jacket, as cabins can be cool on long flights.
