About Condor

Condor is a German leisure airline flying from Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich and other German airports to the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and long-haul holiday destinations. Its colourful striped planes are easy to spot. This guide covers power bank rules, check-in at Frankfurt, long-haul holidays and how it compares with Eurowings and Lufthansa.

Founded in 1955, it is one of Germany’s best-known holiday airlines. It flies new Airbus A320neo-family jets in Europe and Airbus A330neos on long-haul routes.

Power Bank Rules on Condor

New international (ICAO) rules apply from 27 March 2026, and European airlines follow them:

  • Each passenger can carry up to two power banks, in cabin baggage only, never in checked bags.
  • Power banks cannot be charged on board, and you cannot use them to charge phones or other devices during the flight.
  • Up to 100 Wh needs no approval; 100–160 Wh needs approval from the airline. Keep them within reach, not in the overhead bin.

Check-In at Frankfurt

Condor flights leave from Terminal 1 at Frankfurt. Online check-in opens 24 hours before departure, and bag drop closes 60 minutes before long-haul flights. Arrive at least three hours before flights to North America.

Families and Special Assistance

Infants under two travel on an adult’s lap, and pushchairs and car seats can usually be checked in free. Request wheelchairs and other special assistance at least 48 hours before the flight.

Long-Haul Holidays

Its long-haul flights from Frankfurt reach popular holiday spots:

  • North America, including New York, Seattle and Anchorage.
  • The Caribbean, including Punta Cana and Cancún.
  • Africa and the Indian Ocean, such as Mombasa and Mauritius.
