EVA Air is a Taiwanese airline and Star Alliance member, flying from Taipei to Asia, North America, Europe and Australia. Most Economy fares include two 23 kg bags, cabin bags are limited to 7 kg, and since 31 March 2026 you may carry only two power banks and cannot use them in flight. This guide covers baggage, power bank rules, Hello Kitty jets, Infinity MileageLands and how EVA compares with China Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
EVA Air was founded in 1989 by the Evergreen Group and first flew in 1991. It is famous for its Hello Kitty jets and its Royal Laurel business class, and holds a 5-star Skytrax rating.

Taiwan’s airlines, including EVA, tightened their rules on 31 March 2026:
Selected routes use Hello Kitty jets with themed boarding passes, meals and amenities, which are popular with families, so book early. The aircraft assigned to a flight can change, so check EVA’s Hello Kitty jet schedule.
Bassinets are available for babies on long-haul flights, and children’s meals can be requested in advance.

All three are popular for flights between North America and Asia.
