About Neos

Neos is an Italian leisure airline flying from Milan Malpensa, Verona, Bologna and Rome to beach destinations in Egypt, Africa, the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean, plus New York. It flies Boeing 787 Dreamliners on long-haul routes. This guide covers power bank rules, check-in at Malpensa, long-haul holidays and how it compares with ITA Airways and Condor.

Founded in 2001, it is part of the Alpitour travel group, Italy’s largest tour operator. It flies Boeing 737s in Europe and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners on long-haul routes.

Power Bank Rules on Neos

New international (ICAO) rules apply from 27 March 2026, and European airlines follow them:

  • Each passenger can carry up to two power banks, in cabin baggage only, never in checked bags.
  • Power banks cannot be recharged on board, and many airlines also ban using them to charge phones during the flight.
  • Up to 100 Wh needs no approval; 100–160 Wh needs approval from the airline. Keep them within reach, not in the overhead bin.

Check-In at Milan Malpensa

Neos flights leave from Terminal 1 at Malpensa. Online check-in opens 48 hours before departure, and arriving three hours before long-haul flights is recommended.

Families and Special Assistance

Infants under two travel on an adult’s lap, and pushchairs and car seats can usually be checked in free. Request wheelchairs and other special assistance at least 48 hours before the flight.

Long-Haul Beach Holidays

The airline flies Italians to warm beaches all year:

  • Zanzibar, Mombasa and the Maldives in the Indian Ocean.
  • Cancún, Cuba and the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean.
  • Sharm El Sheikh and Marsa Alam on the Red Sea.
