About Transavia

Transavia is the Air France-KLM group’s low-cost airline, flying from Amsterdam, Paris Orly and other Dutch and French airports to holiday destinations across Europe and North Africa. It sells four packages, Basic, Smart, Plus and Max, and the small bag and cabin trolley together may weigh only 10 kg. This guide covers the packages, cabin bag rules, power bank rules, Flying Blue and how Transavia compares with Ryanair and easyJet.

Transavia was founded in 1965 and is the low-cost airline of the Air France-KLM group. It runs as two companies, one in the Netherlands and one in France, and focuses on holiday routes around the Mediterranean.

Power Bank Rules on Transavia

Transavia follows the Air France-KLM group and ICAO rules:

  • A maximum of two power banks per passenger, up to 100 Wh each without approval, in cabin baggage only.
  • No charging power banks on board, and do not use them to charge your phone during the flight.
  • Never pack power banks in checked bags.

Check-In at Schiphol and Orly

Online check-in is available on the website and app. Security queues at Schiphol and Orly can be long in summer, so arrive at least two hours before departure, and earlier for non-Schengen flights.

Families and Special Assistance

Infants under two travel on an adult’s lap, and pushchairs can be taken to the aircraft door. Small pets can travel in the cabin on many flights for a fee, and special assistance should be requested in advance.
