Akasa Elevate Explained: Tiers, Points, Benefits and Redemptions

Akasa Elevate is Akasa Air’s first loyalty programme. Launched on 7 August 2026, the airline’s fourth anniversary, it lets members earn Elevate Points on flights and extras, climb four tiers from Bronze to Platinum, and, since October 2026, use points to pay for flights.
This guide explains how the Akasa Air loyalty programme works: tier thresholds, earning rates, tier benefits, how much points are worth, the retro claim for past flights, and how it compares with other frequent flyer programmes in India. Facts are checked against the sources listed at the end.

How to Join Akasa Elevate
Joining Akasa Elevate is free and takes a few minutes. You can sign up on the Akasa Air website or in the app:
- Open the Akasa Air website or app and choose the option to join Akasa Elevate.
- Enter your name exactly as it appears on your ID, along with your mobile number and email address.
- Verify your details and set up your account.
- Add your Akasa Elevate membership number to future bookings so your Elevate Points are credited automatically.
- Submit a retro claim for any eligible recent flights.
Make sure the name on your Akasa Elevate account matches the name on your bookings. A mismatch is one of the most common reasons points do not appear in a frequent flyer programme.
Akasa Elevate Tiers and How to Qualify
Everyone starts at Bronze when they join. To move up, you need to reach either the spend target or the flight target within a rolling 365 days. You do not need both, and you can jump straight to Gold or Platinum if you qualify.
| Tier | Eligible spend | Or eligible flights | Earn rate per ₹100 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | Automatic on joining | — | 8 points |
| Silver | ₹75,000 | 6 flights | 10 points |
| Gold | ₹1,25,000 | 15 flights | 12 points |
| Platinum | ₹2,50,000 | 30 flights | 14 points |
Tier status lasts 365 days from the date it is assigned. The flight target makes Silver reachable for many travellers who fly Akasa every couple of months, while the spend target helps people who buy longer or more expensive trips.

How to Earn Elevate Points
You earn Elevate Points on eligible spending with the airline, not on distance flown. That means a more expensive ticket earns more points, whatever the length of the flight.
- Flights: points are based on the eligible fare you pay, at 8 to 14 points per ₹100 depending on your tier.
- Extras: seats, Café Akasa meals and excess baggage also earn points, but only when bought directly from the airline.
- Direct booking bonus: booking on the Akasa website or app earns an extra 4 points per ₹100 at every tier, so a Platinum member booking direct earns 18 points per ₹100.
- Travel agents: bookings through agents earn base points, but not the direct booking bonus.
- No points: cancelled, unused and no-show tickets do not earn points.
Points are usually credited within 30 days of completing your journey, so do not worry if they do not appear straight away.
Akasa Elevate Tier Benefits
Higher tiers bring discounts on extras and, at the top levels, free services that make travel easier:
| Benefit | Silver | Gold | Platinum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-booked Café Akasa meals | 15% off | 15% off | 15% off |
| Pre-booked excess baggage | 15% off | 15% off | 15% off |
| Seat selection | 15% off | 50% off | Free |
| Extra legroom seats | 15% off | 15% off | 50% off |
| Akasa Priority | 15% off | 50% off | Free |
| Cancellation fee | — | 50% off | Waived |
| Change fee | — | Waived | Waived |
| GetEarly | — | Free | Free |
| Extra free baggage | — | 5 kg | Included |
| 24×7 priority customer care | — | Yes | Yes |
There is no lounge access and no upgrade currency, which reflects Akasa’s single-class cabin. The most valuable perks for frequent travellers are the waived change fees at Gold and the free seats, priority services and waived cancellation fees at Platinum.

How to Redeem Elevate Points
When the programme launched, redemption was marked as coming soon. In October 2026, Akasa switched on redemptions. Rather than using an award chart, points are used to offset the cash price of a flight, similar to IndiGo’s BluChip programme.
According to calculations by Live from a Lounge, one Elevate Point was worth roughly ₹0.50 to ₹0.60 when used for flights. In one example, a Mumbai to Delhi fare needed 10,499 points to cover ₹5,635 of the fare, about ₹0.54 per point. Taxes and fees may still need to be paid in cash.
What Are Elevate Points Worth?
At around ₹0.50 per point, a Bronze member earning 8 points per ₹100 gets back roughly 4% of what they spend. Booking direct lifts that to about 6%, and a Platinum member booking direct earns about 9%. That makes the programme a simple, cash-back-style scheme, best suited to people who fly Akasa often.
Akasa Air Rewards: Worked Examples
To see how Akasa Air rewards add up, here is what you might earn on a ₹6,000 fare booked directly on the Akasa website, using an estimated value of about ₹0.50 to ₹0.60 per point:
| Tier | Points per ₹100 (direct) | Points on a ₹6,000 fare | Approximate value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 12 | 720 | ₹360 to ₹430 |
| Silver | 14 | 840 | ₹420 to ₹500 |
| Gold | 16 | 960 | ₹480 to ₹580 |
| Platinum | 18 | 1,080 | ₹540 to ₹650 |
These figures are estimates. Points are earned on the eligible part of the fare, so taxes and some fees may not count, and the real value of a point depends on the fare you redeem against. Even so, the examples show that booking direct makes a noticeable difference at every tier.
Over a year, a traveller who spends ₹75,000 with Akasa and books direct could earn around 9,000 Elevate Points as a Bronze member, worth roughly ₹4,500 to ₹5,400 in flights, and would also reach Silver status for the following year.
Getting Good Value When You Redeem
Because points offset the cash fare, their value stays fairly steady, but a few habits help. Use points on fares you would buy anyway rather than booking a trip just to spend them. Check whether paying part of the fare in points and the rest in cash leaves you with a useful balance for later. And remember that a flight paid for with points may not earn points itself, so compare the cash price, the points needed and any points you would give up before you confirm. For short notice trips, when cash fares are high, using points can feel especially rewarding, as each point still covers a share of the fare.
The Retro Claim for Past Flights
After you join, you can claim points for some recent flights taken before you became a member. Launch coverage said flights from 1 April 2026 would qualify, while the airline’s FAQ describes a 90-day window, so check which flights the claim form accepts and submit your claim as soon as possible.
- Join Akasa Elevate for free on the Akasa website or app.
- Find your past booking references and ticket details.
- Use the retro claim form in your account.
- Check your points balance after the claim is processed.
Points Expiry and Tier Validity
- Points: do not expire as long as you earn or redeem at least once every 24 months.
- Tier status: lasts 365 days from the date it is assigned.
- Requalifying: keep flying or spending to stay at your tier, as your status is based on a rolling 365-day period.
Akasa Air at Four Years
Since its first flight in August 2022, Akasa Air has carried nearly 30 million passengers. It flies 40 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with 226 on order, to 29 cities in India and seven international destinations. Launching a loyalty programme is a sign that the airline is growing up and competing harder for frequent travellers and corporate customers.

How the Akasa Air Loyalty Programme Compares
India’s other big airlines also run loyalty programmes, so it is worth comparing before you decide where to focus your flying:
| Programme | Airline | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Akasa Elevate | Akasa Air | Points per ₹100 spent, used to offset fares, four tiers |
| BluChip | IndiGo | Points earned on spend and used to pay for flights |
| Maharaja Club | Air India | Full frequent flyer programme with Star Alliance partners |
Each frequent flyer programme suits a different type of traveller. If you mainly fly Akasa, Akasa Elevate is the obvious choice. If you fly internationally or want lounge access and partner airlines, Air India’s Star Alliance-linked programme offers more. If you fly IndiGo more often, BluChip may suit you better. Collecting in one programme builds status faster than spreading your flights across several.
What Akasa Elevate Does Not Offer Yet
As a new programme, Akasa Elevate is simpler than the frequent flyer programme of a full-service airline. At launch, it did not include:
- Partner airlines: you cannot earn or spend Elevate Points on other airlines.
- Co-branded credit cards: there was no Akasa credit card for earning points on everyday spending.
- Bank point transfers: credit card reward points could not be converted into Elevate Points.
- Lounge access and upgrades: Akasa flies a single-class cabin and does not offer lounges or upgrades through the programme.
Akasa has said Akasa Elevate will keep evolving with new capabilities, partnerships and benefits, so some of these features may be added later. Watch for announcements if partner earning matters to you.
Akasa Elevate for Business Travellers
Frequent business travellers are an important target for the programme. Akasa flies many of India’s busiest business routes, such as Mumbai to Delhi and Bengaluru, and the top tiers are designed around what business travellers value most: flexibility and speed at the airport.
- Flexibility: Gold members pay no change fees, and Platinum members also have cancellation fees waived.
- Speed: Akasa Priority and GetEarly help you get through the airport and on board faster.
- Support: Gold and Platinum members get 24×7 priority customer care when plans go wrong.
- Baggage: extra free baggage at Gold and Platinum helps on longer trips.
If your company books your travel, ask for your Akasa Elevate number to be added to every booking, so you earn Elevate Points and tier credit on work trips.
Who Should Join Akasa Elevate?
- Regular Akasa flyers: anyone flying the airline a few times a year should join, because it is free and points never expire if you stay active.
- Business travellers: Gold and Platinum benefits, such as waived change fees and priority services, are valuable if your plans change often.
- Families: discounts on seats, meals and baggage add up when you book for several people.
- Occasional flyers: joining costs nothing, so it is still worth signing up and claiming points for recent flights.
7 Best Tips to Get More From the Programme
- Book direct: you earn 4 bonus points per ₹100 on the Akasa website or app.
- Buy extras from Akasa: seats, meals and baggage bought directly earn points too.
- Add your membership number to every booking: otherwise you may miss points.
- Claim past flights quickly: the retro claim window is limited.
- Track your tier progress: six flights in a year are enough for Silver.
- Stay active: earn or redeem at least once every 24 months to keep your points.
- Compare the cash price: before redeeming, check that using points gives good value.

How Frequent Flyer Programmes in India Have Changed
Airline loyalty in India has changed quickly. Traditional programmes rewarded distance flown, but most newer schemes reward money spent instead. That shift favours travellers who buy flexible or last-minute fares and makes points easier to understand, because each point is closely linked to a cash value.
IndiGo launched its BluChip programme in 2025, and Air India relaunched its frequent flyer programme as Maharaja Club after merging with Vistara. With the Akasa Air loyalty programme now live, all three of India’s largest airline groups reward regular customers, which gives travellers more reason to compare programmes as well as fares.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Forgetting your membership number: add it to every booking, including those made through travel agents or your employer.
- Buying extras from third parties: seats, meals and baggage only earn points when bought directly from the airline.
- Missing the retro claim: claims for past flights are only accepted for a limited time.
- Letting your account go quiet: points can expire if you do not earn or redeem for 24 months.
- Redeeming without checking value: compare how much cash you save with how many points you use.
- Using a different name: the name on your booking must match your account.
Where You Can Earn: The Akasa Air Network
You can earn points on every Akasa flight, so the programme is most useful if the airline flies where you need to go. Akasa’s network covers 29 cities in India, including major business and holiday routes from Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and other cities, plus seven international destinations, mainly in the Gulf.
The airline has 226 more Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on order, so the network is likely to keep growing. As new routes are added, members will have more chances to earn and use points, and more reason to choose Akasa over other airlines on the same route.
For travellers outside the biggest cities, the network matters even more. If Akasa is the only airline offering a convenient non-stop flight from your home airport, concentrating your flying with one airline becomes much easier, and reaching Silver or Gold becomes realistic. On the busiest trunk routes, where several airlines compete, the programme can act as a tie-breaker when fares and timings are similar. Either way, it makes sense to look at where you actually fly over a typical year, count the trips you are likely to take with Akasa, and decide whether the programme will reward you enough to change your booking habits, or whether it is simply a useful bonus on top of the trips you already take.
Travel Rules to Remember on Akasa Air
Whatever your tier, Indian rules apply to every flight. India’s DGCA rules ban charging devices from power banks during flights on Indian airlines, and power banks must be carried in your cabin bag. See our power bank rules guide and our Akasa Air guide for baggage, fares and check-in.
