Jin Air is the low-cost airline of the Korean Air group, flying from Seoul, Busan and Jeju to Japan, China, Southeast Asia and Pacific islands. Cabin bags are usually up to 10 kg, most fares include 15 kg of checked baggage, and power banks cannot be used on board. This guide covers the Korean power bank ban, check-in, the planned merger with Air Busan and Air Seoul and how it compares with its Korean rivals.
Founded in 2008, the airline flies Boeing 737 aircraft. After Korean Air’s merger with Asiana, the airline will absorb Air Busan and Air Seoul to become Korea’s largest low-cost airline.

All South Korean airlines now ban the use of power banks on board:
Online check-in is available on the website and app, and self bag drop is available at Incheon. Counters close 50 minutes before international flights, so arrive at least two hours early.
Infants under two travel on an adult’s lap. Request wheelchairs and other special assistance at least 48 hours before the flight.
Korea’s low-cost market is changing:
