Find the lowest fares and compare them with other airlines in one search.
Wizz Air is the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, flying from Budapest, Bucharest, Warsaw, London Luton and many other bases. Every fare includes a free under-seat bag, while trolley bags, checked bags and seats cost extra. This guide covers the power bank ban, check-in, EU passenger rights and how it compares with Ryanair and easyJet.
Founded in 2003, the airline started flying in 2004 from Katowice. It flies one of Europe’s youngest fleets of Airbus A320neo and A321neo jets.

The airline bans the use of power banks on board, in line with the stricter European rules of 2026:
Online check-in in the app is free and opens 30 days before departure for most passengers who buy a seat, or 24 hours before for others. Checking in at the airport costs extra, so always check in online. Bag drop closes 40 minutes before departure.
Infants under two travel on an adult’s lap, and pushchairs and car seats can usually be checked in free. Request wheelchairs and other special assistance at least 48 hours before the flight.
Under EU rule EC 261 you may be owed care, rerouting or compensation of up to €600 when a flight from the EU is cancelled at short notice or arrives more than three hours late, unless the cause was extraordinary, such as bad weather.
